There is something for everyone all year round in Camden, Maine and the surrounding area. One could easily spend multiple weeks in Midcoast Maine. Check out our Things To Do page to find the location and websites to a number of area Activites, Restaurants, Stores, Museums, Festivals and Events, and other Points of Interest. There is also a tab to give you directions from the Hawthorn Inn to the destination.
As an innkeeper, it is nearly impossible to keep up with everything that is going on in and about the area. Over time, as we become more familiar with the area we will expand these pages to share our experiences as the different places. In the interim below is a list of resources that will help you plan your Camden vacation.
Take me to Camden Maine is an extremely detailed site covering Camden and the surrounding area including Lincolnville, Rockport and Rockland. It provides details on what to do, must see attractions, where to eat, and where to shop. It is a great first site to explore to get the big picture of the area, then hone in on how you are going to spend your time in the area. Perhaps even decide you need to extend your stay to do and see everything that you want to do.
The Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce provides details on all of the communities in the Midcoast region. You can find business directories for Chamber members as well as the events going on in the local communities.
The Camden Area Business Group (CABG) provides the details of Camden area based events sponsored by the CABG and/or its members. The CABG membership consists of Camden area shops, activities, restaurants, and lodging establishments. The Hawthorn Inn is a member of the CABG.
Beyond the Camden Area
When coming to Maine, many visitors want to experience as much of Vacation Land as possible. Ted and I are becoming familiar with all there is to see and do in the midcoast of Maine. We are not familiar with many other areas in Maine. As a result, we have partnered with Your Maine Concierge, a Maine vacation planner. Vanessa Santarelli, the firm’s founder, was born and raised in Maine and has traveled the state extensively. Vanessa is familiar with where to eat, where to stay and what to do throughout the state.
